Workshops for community centres in Merseyside and beyond

Osun Arts uses traditional and contemporary African arts and cultural activities to advance knowledge, educational skills in Merseyside and beyond.

We encourage everyone taking part in one of our workshops for community groups to achieve their full potential, play an active role in their community and have an improved quality of life.

We do this by using resources to organise specific projects which communities can interact with during workshops, and holding training, exhibitions and performances, on dance, fitness, music, team building, stress management and other exercise sessions to aid health and wellbeing.

Projects we offer to community centres

Fun With Fabric – a visual arts oriented workshop project.

A Batik and Tye Dye programme for long term unemployed persons with an interest in/or fashion background above 25 living in the Merseyside area.

Every participant in the Fun with Fabric project will be taught and trained how to design and produce clothes using motifs and patterns, and will learn how to apply dyes.

At the end of the project, we stage an exhibition show, displaying what each of the

participants has achieved through the programme.

Participants also receive business support and mentoring as well as learning all about the art and craft of tie-dye and Batik.

They will be advised on business planning, financial management, marketing and sales, as well as being signposted to other potential sources of advice and support.

Please contact Osun Arts Foundation for more information.
