Touring plays for 2023-24

As a black-led organisation, we go into schools and theatres to provide culturally educational and African culture inspired stage plays in England and beyond.

Therefore, Osun Arts Foundation’s work is specialised, with established African artists to encourage and promote racial harmony and other ethnicities compositions, especially in the rural areas.

Workshops from our plays will also go to rural schools to reflect divergent ethnicities and gender.

The cultural touring plays we are working on will help to address social issues and proffer solutions. Cultural values and essence are provided to encourage social/racial harmony amongst school children, teachers and people in the communities.

Our work is innovative, using costumes, artefacts & cultural props that enable cultural & traditional understanding/social integration.

The new plays that are ready for touring are:

‘Igbekun’

An entertaining but thought-provoking theatre production, which raises the issue of slavery to the present day. -A rich display of music, dance and drama.

‘Blunt Edges’

Blunt Edges employs the vehicle of theatre to highlight probable reasons for the  prevalence of community social problems, emphasising its impact on all affected parties.

Employing the ‘mirror’ tactic, a family/school situation is enacted to bring the audience into the problem.

‘Let Her Be’

A story of the struggle of a girl who chooses determinedly to pursue her dreams despite her father’s disapproval. -Promoting Gender Equity.

Our work consists of Digital Collaboration, raising our cultural significance in social harmony, empathy, and social benefits throughout schools, community centres and theatres.
