Osun Arts aims to create awareness and appreciation of neglected African traditional Arts and Culture and to encourage the understanding of Britain as a vibrant multi-cultural society. The Osun Arts Foundation is a non-profit making organisation (Charity registered in the UK No:1039875) based in Liverpool, England, founded in 1992 and co-ordinated by Oladimeji Adisa.
We organise participatory combined arts workshops, in schools community and arts centres, as well as taking a performance on tour each year. Most people in the West only get to view African treasures in the glass cabinets of museums, where they are treated as past history. In line with official policies, using our Participatory Combined Arts Projects, we offer presentations that aim to bring children and others in

Our school projects are tailored to the exact needs of the schools and community centres involved/with the aim to develop the creative instinct, self-confidence and self esteem of children and young people from varying backgrounds.
A performance -accompanied by an exhibition of the children's artworks is the culmination of the project. Before an audience of their friends and family the children show and celebrate all that has been learned through the project.
Our latest project - Moremi is an epic drama piece in the Yoruba tradition featuring theatre, dynamic dances, masquerade, powerful music, and elaborate costumes. Moremi is divided into six chapters containing traditional style dialogue, songs and music.
‘Many thanks to the artists who visited the school last week, the children really enjoyed their day and all the staff seemed to think it was a very valuable exercise.’
