This
 show will be available national and internationally from September
2008. It is also Osun Arts Foundation's contribution to Liverpool's
European Capital of Culture Celebrations in the UK in 2008.


 


 

Igbekun

Igbekun is a drama/ dance piece in the Yoruba tradition featuring

live theatre, dynamic dances, powerful drumming and elaborate costumes.The story of how Africans entered the slave market 200 years ago. Theatrically expressed with high sense of action, mime, songs and music.

 

 

 

Theme Background

The tour can also be accompanied by an educational outreach

programme for schools and community groups. During the week commencing at the local schools to run workshops, in close collaboration with the art teacher/co-ordinator.

All our performers have a broad knowledge of the traditional and contemporary artistic skills and history of their respective cultures and their impact on the cultural heritage within Britain.
